An exploration of the first pieces for keyboard instruments published in early sixteenth century Paris.

The series deals with three genres: sacred counterpoint, adaptations of songs and finally dance music. This programme focuses on the latter two.

Although there were always lutes, theorboes and recorders hanging on the walls around the harpsichord at home, Pierre Gallon actually first crossed the threshold of the Caen Conservatoire to play the violin, when he was barely five years old. He then spent ten years studying the harpsichord with Bibiane Lapointe and Thierry Maeder before joining Olivier Baumont and Blandine Rannou’s Early Music classes at the CNSM in Paris.
