Nominated posthumously " Leipzig Chorales ", the eighteen chorales BWV 651-668 are great Preludes, most of which are written for organ with two manuals and pedal. Bach composed these works during the Weimar period (1708-1717) but he retouched or reworked many of them during his final years in Leipzig (1739-1750). The final versions were copied in a book called the " Leipzig Autograph ".
